Reclaimed Wood

Each piece of reclaimed wood is beautiful, spectacular and unique.

Hundreds of years ago, only mature trees were used in buildings across the world. Long after the buildings started to crumble, this timeless timber still stood proud, waiting to be carefully extracted to start a new life in stylish living spaces and to become loved again - this time in the form of beautiful crafted furniture.

TREATING THE WOOD RIGHT

Using time-honoured techniques, but with state of the art technology we painstakingly prepare and sand each piece of wood by hand, ensuring it keeps its natural character before it is ready to be lovingly handcrafted into our unique furniture.
The beauty of reclaimed solid wood is in its exposed grain and natural look which we preserve by using superior finishes that enhance the true beauty of the wood.

SOLID WOOD CHARACTERISTICS

Wood is a natural product that responds to temperature and humidity variations by expanding and contracting. Sometimes these changes may be noticeable in the physical appearance of the product.  Wooden products can experience movements and cracks as it adjusts - this is not a fault, but a natural occurrence within the fibres of a natural product. We cannot take responsibility for any major movement on our products if you have it directly next to radiators or in direct sunlight. This is a natural solid wood product- it needs to be looked after and kept at a general room temperature. Any huge amounts of heat, it will cause the timber to shrink, so please be aware!

Reclaimed wood may have visible bumps and dents- it is all part of the character and the story of the piece! We take great care to join the pieces together, sand and smooth any anomalies from the wood, but it does contain knots, grains, and lots of character!

BEING SUSTAINABLE WITH RECLAIMED WOOD

Though any wood is considered to be a sustainable material, it still takes many years to grow a tree.

By re-using the wood that was cut many years ago and has been in use in a previous life is a great way to stay sustainable with your furniture choices.
